A major Thank You to all of our readers and contributors! In a short time, our readership will have surpassed 20,000! Thanks so much, and here’s to many more!

Crispy Quips has now served 10,000 members of the intelligent populace! Thank you all for reading!
It’s finally here: the first ever Crispy Quips spinoff.
LINGUISTIquips will cover topics in linguistics (my field of study) that wouldn’t really fit well on Crispy Quips, next to political rants and Apple fanboyism. Thus, I’ve launched LINGUISTIquips in order to say my share about human language.
If you’re interested in the topic, or even if you don’t think that you are, give the new site a look!.
As a last-minute addition to the new look of Crispy Quips, I’ve added a category cloud (affectionately named “Crispy Cloud”) to the sidebar, directly beneath the blogroll.
This is a good representation of the least and most popular categories written to on Crispy Quips. The larger the category name, the more common the post.
The biggest category in the cloud? “Quip,” of course.
I hope you all enjoy Crispy Quips’ new look.
No more dust.
I’m in the process of updating the look and feel of Crispy Quips. Please pardon the dust as I tinker around under the hood…
Well, Crispy Quips has been around for a while now (with over 7,000 quippers), and so my Spam box can get pretty full. I realized the other day, however, that some Spam can be very helpful in building up one’s ego.
For example, a personal favorite of mine:
Great job. May I ask you to visit my pages and tell me your opinion?
Of course, that sentence is followed by a link to some explicit page. But still, I can glance at it and imagine that someone actually wants my opinion.
But they get much better than that.
The German, French, and Japanese flags at the right side of the Crispy Quips front page will now translate the front page into their respective languages. The translation is provided by Google.
The British flag does not translate, for obvious reasons.
Since we started in March 2007, our popularity has grown by leaps and bounds. Here’s what the current trend looks like, graphed starting with March 2007:

Here’s to a steeper slope!
Crisp: a story on a current event or topic from a wholly objective perspective.
Quip: a story on a current event or topic from a wholly subjective perspective, much like a newspaper opinion column.
Many of you may have noticed that Crispy Quips has recently announced its search for the work of guest authors pertaining to relevant topics to be posted on Crispy Quips. This is just one new feature recently added to Crispy Quips.
More importantly, however, is Crispy Quips’ commitment to a precise system of organization for its posts.
Until now, posts were filed subjectively, many posts ending up filed as both “Crisp” and “Quip.”
This style of filing is no longer allowed on Crispy Quips. The new rules for filing posts on Crispy Quips are as follows:
